Foremost Farms Hosts Employee Earth Week Events

April 25, 2024

Foremost Farms employees rolled up their sleeves to plant trees, sow seeds and cultivate a deeper commitment of stewardship during the 3rd Annual Earth Week Celebration orchestrated by the Sustainability Team.

The week kicked off early as employees from Richland Center and Middleton joined forces on Friday, April 19 to plant 58 trees along the Pine River Fishery Area near Richland Center in partnership with the Wisconsin DNR for Adopt-A-Wildlife Program. Foremost Farms has pledged to contribute a minimum of 100 people-hours of watershed restoration work annually through this partnership.

The dairy food and ingredient manufacturer and co-op offered additional activities for employees to participate in throughout the week:

    • A virtual lunch n’ learn offered insights across the Foremost Farm’s value chain on creating resiliency for U.S. Dairy through environmental stewardship.
    • Hands-on planting demonstration sowing vegetable, herb and flower seeds led by Master Gardener and Foremost Farms employee Jeannie Manis, while gaining insights into sustainable gardening practices.
    • A competitive quiz session to test employees’ understanding of Foremost Farms and the dairy industry’s various commitment pillars to sustainability.
    • A comprehensive list of education opportunities through LinkedIn Learning and reading recommendations.
