Baraboo, Wisc. (August 11, 2022) – Foremost Farms offered its support to the Wisconsin State Fair this year in the form of product and employee volunteers. Over one thousand pounds of butter were donated by Foremost Farms to the Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Promotions Board to be used at one of the fair’s busiest pop-up restaurants, the Real Wisconsin Cheese Grill, located in the Wisconsin Products Pavilion. Sixteen Foremost Farms employees committed to volunteering a total of 48 hours to the cheese grill and produced thousands of delectable grilled cheese sandwiches for hungry customers.
At the cheese grill station, butter from the Foremost Farms Reedsburg plant was melted, generously slathered on bread and grilled around melty cheddar or Swiss cheese to elevate the flavor and crunch of the signature sandwich. The cheese grill station sold an average of about 3,500 sandwiches to fairgoers each day. Real Wisconsin Cheese Grill First Shift Supervisor Mike Parish said, “This is usually the longest line in the building. It’s worth the wait!”
Foremost Farms’ employees found comradery with their fellow fair workers as they brought smiles to customer’s faces and immersed themselves in the tradition of the Wisconsin State Fair. Susan Rusch, Corporate Treasurer at Foremost Farms and Real Wisconsin Cheese Grill volunteer said, “The family had fun at the fair, and I made new friends working at the grill.”
Foremost Farms had an impact on the success of the Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Promotion Board by donating product and time, and the volunteer’s representation at the fair supported the dairy industry in a way that had meaning for the people who run Foremost Farms.
Greg Schlafer, Foremost Farms’ President and CEO said, “We are proud to support Dairy at the Wisconsin State Fair. Giving back in this way fortifies our communities’ deep-running love for the tradition of the Wisconsin State Fair.”
