Foremost Farms Partners with Wisconsin DNR for Adopt-A-Wildlife Habitat

April 22, 2024

MIDDLETON, WISC. (April 19, 2024) – Foremost Farms employees dedicated the day to planting native trees and habitat restoration along the Pine River Fishery Area near Richland Center, Wisc. This is a collaborative partnership with the Wisconsin DNR’s Adopt-A-Wildlife Habitat program.

“It makes sense to contribute to the Richland Center area with our processing plant and high density of cooperative member farms,” said Greg Schlafer, President and CEO of Foremost Farms. “Our mission is to cultivate a culture where small actions add value and foster a sense of purpose, empowering our employees to contribute to something greater than themselves.”

Foremost Farms upholds its sustainability commitment to maintaining water quality and ensuring a plentiful water supply for future generations. The dairy cooperative will contribute at least 100 people-hours of watershed restoration work annually through this partnership. Aligned with our four core values, we are dedicated to “Take Care of Our World,” to serve as stewards of the earth, focusing on the environment and sustainability. The three-year restoration plan includes removing trees throughout the property to prevent invasive species, enable the growth of native grasses and prepare the ecosystem to plant and maintain native trees.

In 2023, Foremost Farms completed 103 people-hours of restoration work involving more than 45 employees from across the cooperative. To know more about Foremost Farms’ commitment to sustainability, visit: https://www.foremostfarms.com/sustainability/
