MIDDLETON, WISC., May 27, 2025 – In honor of Earth Month, Foremost Farms employees dedicated a day to planting 50 native trees and habitat restoration along the Pine River Fishery Area near Richland Center, Wisc. This event was part of the cooperative’s ongoing partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources through the Adopt-A-Wildlife Habitat program.
“Given the close proximity of the area to our Richland Center processing plant and member farms, we believe it’s our responsibility to help create and maintain an environment that will positively impact future generations,” said Brenda Dehart, President and CEO of Foremost Farms. “We’re building a culture where even the smallest actions leave a big impact and promote a feeling of purpose, empowering our employees to contribute to something bigger than themselves.”
Foremost Farms upholds its sustainability commitment to maintaining water quality and ensuring a plentiful water supply for future generations. Since the program’s inception in 2023, Foremost Farms employees have contrubited over 250 volunteer hours to restoring this habitat. Aligned with our four core values, we are dedicated to “Take Care of Our World,” to serve as stewards of the earth, focusing on the environment and sustainability. The three-year restoration plan includes removing trees throughout the property to prevent invasive species, enable the growth of native grasses and prepare the ecosystem to plant and maintain native trees.
In 2024, Foremost Farms completed 105 people-hours of restoration work involving more than 35 employees from across the cooperative. To learn more about Foremost Farms’ commitment to sustainability, visit: https://www.foremostfarms.com/sustainability/
